Nortonics Square Din Switchboard Instruments

The Nortonics range of Din standard analogue meters are available in both 48mm, 72mm and 96mm. The moving iron ammeters are fitted with the British standard x6 overload scale. 5 digit microprocessor meter with relay outputs, analogue signal output, RS485 Din 96x48mm 5 digit digital panel meters, available with a wide choice of both DC and AC inputs, along with many process inputs. The meter can be specified with a choice of one of three outputs, one relay (non adjustable from the front) can be specified as latched or non latched, an isolated analogue output or RS485 MODBUS RTU. The meter utilises the latest microprocessor technology in both the setting and operation of the meter.


CS1 meters are for single or no outputs. The meter becomes CS2 prefixed, when multiple outputs are specified.

DC Ampere hour meter with relay outputs, analogue output, RS485 A Din 96x48mm DC Ampere Hour meter, taking a current reference from a DC shunt and integrating this reference against time to achieve an Ampere Hour or Ampere Minute reading. There are two display screens, the main ten digit screen is the totaliser display, the other screen is a "Batch" programmable setting. The meter can be specified with up to four relay outputs (2C/O and 2N/O) which can be assigned at the time of ordering for many functions to control say an electroplating system. As an option RS485 MODBUS is also available. Three volt free control inputs are featured as standard for functions such as reset.

MID stands for �Measuring Instruments Directive" and is a new European Union directive to create a single market for measuring instruments across the EU and was effective from the 30th October 2006. The aim of the directive is to guarantee to users a standard European level of safety, reliability, tamper proofing and accuracy to instruments. For when meters are subjected to certain minimum specified levels of climatic conditions, mechanical environments and electromagnetic interference. "MID" is a replacement for the old UK "OFGEM" approval, also referred to sometimes as "OFFER" approval. It is advised that all electricity meters must be approved if used in a billing situation. This is a requirement of Schedule 7 of the Electricity Act 1989. Prior to the 30th October 2006 approval would have been granted by OFGEM. However, meters approved under previous UK provisions need not be certified in exempt situations. Usually landlord/tenant contracts, so long as a written agreement exists between the parties to dispense with the certification requirements. But any meter must still be of an approved design and be maintained in good working order. The new MID directive refers to ten categories of measuring instruments of which four relate to utility meters. In particular KWh meters fall within MI-003 ACTIVE ELECTRICAL ENERGY METERS.

FOXTAM Phase Sequence Indicators (P.S.I.) are suitable for a range of applications to indicate both the presence of all three phases and the correct sequence of those phases. Incorrect phase connection will often cause serious damage to the motors of compressors, pumps, gen-sets, heating and ventilation equipment. Mobile generators, remote installations and shore to ship supplies are most vulnerable to such hazzards and are, therefore, ideal applications for Nortonics range of P.S.I.
